Which method produced this result

Names in Latin letters are read with Pythagorean numerology, the standard system known in English as numerology and in Vietnamese as thần số học: A, J, S = 1; B, K, T = 2; C, L, U = 3; D, M, V = 4; E, N, W = 5; F, O, X = 6; G, P, Y = 7; H, Q, Z = 8; I, R = 9. Accents are removed first (for example ă, â and á count as A, and đ as D).

Kalakini (inauspicious letters by birth weekday) is a rule of the Thai taksa tradition for Thai letters. It does not apply to Latin letters, so no kalakini result is given.

How names are chosen with Pythagorean numerology

  1. Work out the life path number from the full date of birth: reduce the day, the month and the year separately, add them and reduce again, keeping 11, 22 and 33.
  2. Work out the name number: give each letter its Pythagorean value, add them up and reduce the same way.
  3. Many numerologists like a name number that matches the life path number, but the system itself has no forbidden numbers.
  4. Finally, choose a name that sounds good and has a meaning you really like, because that is what stays with its owner for life.

Pythagorean letter values

Latin letters (English, Vietnamese without accents, and plates with Latin letters) use this table. The name's total is reduced to a single digit, keeping the master numbers 11, 22 and 33.

Frequently asked questions

How does the tool choose names?

It works out your life path number from the date of birth, then gives every name in the list its Pythagorean name number. Names whose number equals your life path number come first; the rest follow. Kalakini letters are a Thai rule and are not used for English names.

Where do the names and meanings come from?

They are real, widely used English given names, and the meanings are their established etymologies (for example Sophia from the Greek for wisdom). Nothing on the list is invented.

Will a name chosen this way really make life better?

It is a belief with no scientific evidence. The real, tangible benefit is peace of mind for the person naming and the family, which is a good enough reason in itself.

How can I check a name I already have?

Use the name analysis tool. It reads names in Latin, Thai, Lao or Burmese script and tells you which method it used.
