How is the Thai birth sign counted?

Thai astrology uses the sidereal system, so the day a sign changes is about two weeks later than in the Western system. Thai Aries, for example, begins on 13 April, while Western Aries begins on 21 March. People born early in a month therefore often get a different sign in the two systems.

What does a sign's element do?
